Before starting their first business together, Jeff Jefferson and Sean Harrington spent over a decade in the trenches, smiling and dialing, making placements, billing customers, making payrolls, and evaluating vendors. They joined forces to develop timeshEASY, the only software for staffing agencies designed for their specific needs. It includes timesheets, expenses, invoicing (with timesheets automatically attached), commissions, and onboarding. timeshEASY had direct relationships and integrations with staffing-specific ATS vendors. In 2013, timeshEASY was acquired by Bullhorn, and Jeff and Sean immediately began planning their next adventure.
They next tackled one of their staffing customers’ biggest challenges. The payroll vendors of the world wouldn’t allow direct integration. ADP, Paychex, Ceridian, Paylocity, Paycom, Ultipro, and other national providers aren’t built to focus on a niche and don’t typically build integrations with products they don’t sell directly.
Payroll vendors that don’t focus on software solutions for staffing agencies don’t know enough about how staffing firms operate. They don’t understand that their T&E and/or onboarding offerings aren’t applicable to staffing. In 2014, Jeff and Sean decided the staffing industry needed a vendor that allowed seamless integration, more specific reporting, and a better employee self-service experience. Employdrive was born.
